壁畫（墻紙）起源於古代中國，早在公元前200年，中國人就將米紙粘到墻上。公元105年，蔡倫以破佈等紡織品廢料為原料發明瞭造紙術，這就是紙的誕生。公元8世紀，中國人將造紙技術傳到瞭中東。公元10世紀，阿拉伯人在中國造紙技術的基礎上，以亞麻纖維取代木頭和竹子，製造出品質更好的紙張。公元12世紀，造紙術傳播到瞭歐洲。眾所周知最古老的聖女畫像可追溯到1418年，如今它館藏於佈魯塞爾的皇傢圖書館中。1481年，Jean Bourdichon為法國國王路易十一世繪製瞭50卷壁畫，畫面為藍色背景上的天使，此後路易國王將便攜式的壁畫帶到他喜歡的任何城堡展示欣賞，而其他的歐洲富人紛紛效仿，這就是壁畫被應用的起源。

施工方法：
1、檢查待施工墻麵是否平整、乾凈(避免透底)、乾燥、堅硬、表麵是否有做好清漆或者基膜處理。
2、施工中粘貼墻紙需要使用墻紙專用膠(膠粉+膠漿)，請提前在墻紙經銷商處購買備用。
3、打開壁畫產品包裝，將壁畫平鋪在乾凈的地麵上一一拼好，查看是否有錯漏和瑕疵（以上問題施工後廠傢不予退換）。
4、膠水塗佈：PVC墻紙可直接把膠水均勻塗佈在墻紙背麵，待稍乾後再按照畫面順序平整裱貼上墻，其施工方法與普通PVC墻紙類似；無紡佈/純紙墻紙因透氣性好容易滲透，須把膠水均勻塗佈墻壁上並稍乾後再將墻紙按照畫面順序平整裱貼上墻；無紡佈/純紙墻紙施工中需特別註意不能污損墻紙表麵。
5、大幅麵壁畫均由多個小幅組成，需要現場施工時進行畫面拼接，畫面拼接方法請參考下麵的示意圖；接縫處理須用乾凈材料隔墊後再用軟質壓輪壓平，然後上下裁切好。
6、施工完畢須關好門窗，夏季保持24-36小時，冬季保持48-60小時，讓壁畫墻紙膠自然陰乾；無紡佈/純紙墻紙施工後，若室內濕度太高則需保持適當的空氣流通，以降低環境濕度。
