掛壁燈是安裝在室內墻壁上的輔助照明裝飾燈具，一般多配用乳白色的玻璃燈罩。燈泡功率多在15-40瓦左右，光線淡雅和諧，可把環境點綴得優雅、富麗，尤以新婚居室特別適合。壁燈的種類和樣式較多，一般常見的吸頂燈、變色壁燈、床頭壁燈、鏡前壁燈等。

      壁燈安裝高度應略超過視平線1.8米高左右。壁燈的照明度不宜過大，這樣更富有藝術感染力，壁燈燈罩的選擇應根據墻色而定，白色或奶黃色的墻，宜用淺綠、淡藍的燈罩，湖綠和天藍色的墻，宜用乳白色、淡黃色、茶色的燈罩，這樣，在大麵積一色的底色墻佈，點綴上一隻顯目的壁燈，給人以幽雅清新之感。
