紫檀 
隸豆科紫檀屬，產于印度等東南亞熱帶地區。紫檀木質堅硬細膩，色澤紫黑、凝重、手感沉重。年輪成紋絲狀，紋理纖細，有不規則蟹爪紋，其木屑置于酒精中出現“紫氣東來”的奇幻現象。紫檀木有特殊的檀香味，可以養人、入藥、治傷、消炎，具有增強人體免疫力，延年益壽的保健功效。紫檀被世人譽為木中之王，紅木之首。
