紫外線是導致幾乎所有暴露於戶外的材料發生降解的主要原因。Q8老化試驗機模擬太陽光中的紫外線部分,UVA-340燈管可最佳模擬太陽光的短波段。它特別適用於比較不同種類聚合物和穩定劑之間的性能差異。它是用於材料相關性研究的最好的燈管。

紫外光與陽光模擬
紫外光是造成戶外產品光降解作用的主要因素。Q8的熒光紫外燈可模擬陽光中最重要的短波紫外光,再現光照引起的材料物理性能的老化。根據不同的測試條件,有幾種不同的紫外燈管可供選擇。
Q8燈管
UVA-340燈管. UVA-340燈管可極好地模擬太陽光中的短波紫外光,即從365納米到太陽光截止點295納米的波長范圍。
UVB-313燈管. UVB-313 燈管發出的短波紫外光比通常照射在地球表麵的太陽紫外線強烈,從而可以最大程度的加速材料老化。然而,該燈管可能會對某些材料造成不符合實際的破壞。UVB-313 燈管主要用於質量控制和研究開發,或對耐候性極強的材料運行測試。
Q8潮濕模擬
Q8提供兩種潮濕模擬方法。應用最多的是冷凝方法,它是模擬戶外潮濕侵蝕的最好方法。所有的Q8型號都可運行冷凝循環。因為有些應用條件也要求使用水噴淋以達到實際的效果,所以有些Q8型號既可運行冷凝循環又可運行水噴淋循環。
冷凝
在很多戶外環境中,材料每天的潮濕時間可長達12小時。研究表明造成這種戶外潮濕的主要因素是露水,而不是雨水。Q8通過獨特的冷凝功能來模擬戶外的潮濕侵蝕。在冷凝循環中,通過加熱試驗機底部水盤來產生水蒸汽。熱的水蒸汽使試驗箱在較高溫度下保持100%相對濕度。在Q8的設計中,試樣實際上構成試驗箱的側壁,試樣的背麵暴露在實驗室室內空氣中。室內空氣的冷卻作用導致試樣表麵溫度比水蒸汽溫度低幾度,從而保證水蒸汽會連續不斷地在樣品表麵凝結。這種冷凝水是很穩定的純凈蒸餾水。
水噴淋
在某些實際應用條件下,例如陽光下,聚集的熱量由於突降的陣雨而迅速消散時,材料的溫度就會發生急劇變化,產生熱沖擊,這種熱沖擊對於許多材料而言是一種考驗。Q8的水噴淋可以模擬熱沖擊和/或應力腐蝕。
