純棉織物是以棉花為原料，通過織機，由經緯紗縱橫沉浮相互交織而成的紡織品。

純棉織物分為：

① 本色白佈：普通佈麵、細佈、粗佈、帆佈、斜紋坯佈、原色佈。

② 色佈：有硫化藍佈、硫化墨佈、士林藍佈、士林灰佈、色府綢、各色卡嘰、各色華呢。

③ 花佈：是印染上各種各樣顏色和圖案的佈。如：平紋印花佈、印花斜紋佈、印花嗶嘰、印花直貢。

④ 色織佈：它是把紗或線先經過染色，後在機器上織成的佈如條格佈、被單佈、絨佈、線呢、裝飾佈等。

純棉織品的特點：

① 吸濕性：棉纖維具有較好的吸濕性，在正常的情況下，纖維可向周圍的大氣中吸收水分，其含水率為8-10%，所以它接觸人的皮膚，使人感到柔軟而不僵硬。如果棉佈濕度增大，周圍溫度較高，纖維中含的水分量會全部蒸發散去，使織物保持水平衡狀態，使人感覺舒適。

② 保濕性：由於棉纖維是熱和電的不良導體，熱傳導系數極低，又因棉纖維本身具有多孔性，彈性高優點，纖維之間能積存大量空氣，空氣又是熱和電的不良導體，所以，純棉纖維紡織品具有良好的保濕性，穿著純棉織品服裝使人感覺到溫暖。

③ 耐熱性：純棉織品耐熱能良好，在攝氏110℃以下時,隻會引起織物上水分蒸發,不會損傷纖維,所以純棉織物在常溫下,穿著使用,洗滌印染等對織品都無影響,由此對提高瞭純棉織品耐洗耐穿服用性能。

④ 耐堿性：棉纖維對堿的抵抗能力較大，棉纖維在堿溶液中，纖維不發生破壞現象，該性能有利於服用後對污染的洗滌，消毒除雜質，同時也可以對純棉紡織品進行染色、印花及各種工藝加工，以產生更多棉織新品種。

⑤ 衛生性：棉纖維是天然纖維，其主要成分是纖維素，還有少量的蠟狀物質和含氮物與果膠質。純棉織物經多方麵查驗和實踐，織品與肌膚接觸無任何刺激，無負作用，久穿對人體有益無害，衛生性能良好
