 | OutlineBimetals are composed of two (or sometimes more) metals with different thermal expansion characteristics that are bonded together into a single plate or strip. When the temperature changes, the bimetal strips will deflect. In other words, temperature changes are converted to mechanical motion, which in turn can be used as a simple but very reliable temperature detection mechanism for indicators, regulators and adjustors. |
