1. General Description DKK Automatic DC Motor Undercutter is a specialized lathe bed designed for Railway Locomotive Department, which is conceived for universal use in undercutting all types of motor commutator mica-slots. This machine uses Simatic S7 Controller developed by Siemens, which is a programmable controller. The operator device for S7 Controller is TP070, an independent operation touch panel where data are input and displayed. By using advanced auto-control techniques, the machine is field-proven reliable and robust. In addition, it comes with really easy to operate software and hardware. The company’s design of specialized software features enhanced functionality: wide range of circular dividing, high degree of precision and accuracy, and immediate auto-correction when faults or malfunctions happen. The commutator mica-slot circular dividing senor, designed by our company, makes it possible to accurately locate the mica-slot, and to automatically control the close-loop dividing. Unlike most motor commutators which fail to perform uniform dividing, our dividing sensor can work without cumulative dividing errors. The Siemens walking motor is used as the machine’s drive. Its feature is largely enhanced after being equipped with our company’s non-side-clearance gear-drive. The integration solves the problem of uneven dividing and inaccurate sensor locating. 2. Functionality z The machine is conceived for universal use on traction motors of gas engines and electric locomotives. z The integrative lathe-bed has high stability, and the lathe-head is simple in design and reliable in operation. z Micro PLC system is used to control holding and rotating work pieces, dadoing, and graving grooves. z The machine uses Micro PLC control system, liquid crystal touch screen, walking motor and driver, all produced by Siemens, Germany. z The automatic dividing engine, which is one of the company’s most successful designs, can perform close-loop dividing without cumulating errors. z The machine is highly automatic, that is to say, there is no need of manual work. A signal will be given out when the processing is over. It greatly reduces the work load on operators. z Malfunction alert will be on automatically if faults occur. The machine will also display detailed malfunction analysis and handling procedures. z Molding milling cutter has capability to perform undercutting and chamfering at the same time. z The machine can also be controlled manually after abandoning the Micro PLC control system, which guarantees that production can be carried on if the system is interrupted. 3.
